Printable Birthday Cards

Is there a Birthday coming up? A certain special someone who is now a year older? Well, certainly, it is your duty to show them that you care even if you do not lavishly spoil them with gifts. It is certain that you must at least give them a card to show that you care. It is important also that you leave a message of some sentimental value in the card.

In choosing the right Birthday card, on must look at a few important factors, age being one of them. Certainly you must pick the appropriate card for the appropriate age. For younger children, pick a card that displays vibrant colors and pictures. Perhaps include their favorite movie star of cartoon, with a little flair to it! For slightly older children 7- 10, try to make the card a little fit t their age. Ditch the Big Bird cards and instead try something more along the (pre -preteen). A great Idea would be to give them a card that centers around an activity they love to do. For example, a card that shows soccer or horseback riding, and make sure there is a little personality in the cards! For kids aged 11- 13, avoid giving out cards that are too childish, you do not want to offend a preteen who thinks he or she is maturing. An example of a good card would be one that comments on the child has grown up, or comments on he or she becoming a teen. As well, a card that a display the child’s favorite activity is also a good idea, or perhaps a card that shows a favorite actor or actress. Similarly, kids at this age love humorous cards.

As kids get older, the 14 – 18 range, they like to see more mature cards. In general a “mommies little girl” card is not acceptable. They like to see that you recognize that they are getting more mature. In this age range, there are also “sweet 16’s” and “the big 18” to worry about. So make sure the appropriate card is given. A great idea, is to give out cards that display attitude and fun! As for the 20-30 range, make sure the cards display the fact that they are adults and that they pack a punch! Make sure the cards celebrate their youth, and vigor. Sentimental cards are also great in this time period.

In the 30 – 40 range, it is encouraging to send a card out that says: “Hey you’re still young, live it up”. It is not a good idea to remind them that they are “getting older”. For the 50 – 60 year old cards, watch it. Try not to delve too much into the fact that they are aging, unless of course, it is a buddy who appreciates age humor. It is also a good idea to send a humorous card, or a card with that person’s favorite activity, reminding him or her to still “live it up”. As they get older though, 60 and up, make sure the cards are more mature. Make sure that they celebrate that person’s life and accomplishments.

After age appropriateness, comes personality. Make sure that the card you choose is fitting for them. Perhaps, their personality is not really fitting of the age appropriate cards, maybe they have always been more serious etc. In terms of actually getting the card, you may opt for the old fashioned or the new age card. That is, there are several ways of finding or making a great card online. Whatever you do, just make sure you find the perfect card.
